With this model, Sauerbruch Hutton won the competition in the third round. The following process of the design concept was accompanied by various façade models on a scale of 1:20. The result: 23 differently coloured glazes on 36,000 rods, whose colour distribution was determined by hand at Sauerbruch Hutton and whose iridescent appearance has delighted people in Munich since 2009.
The 'starfish' of Sendling
A total of 22 different shades of yellow and orange, distributed across the 1100 façade elements of the office tower, ensure the recognition value of ADAC’s corporate identity. These were planned with the help of large-scale studies that accompanied the project development after the competition.
