Research & Development

Forward-looking craftsmanship is created where people experiment with an inquiring spirit and where failure is not a setback but an iteration loop on the path to success.

LEROSH

  • Can robots be trained by master craftsmen in sanding?

Hardly any other craft process is as unpopular, causes as much dust and dirt and costs as many hours of work and training time as sanding. Together with the DLR Institute of Robotics and Mechatronics, the Fraunhofer IWU, Interactive Scape and craft enterprises from the fields of orthopaedic technology, musical instrument making and carpentry, we are conducting practical research on a robotics application that promises benefits for every craft.

If this innovative leap succeeds, we will minimise the health burden on employees and increase the efficiency and attractiveness of digital crafts.

Collaborative Robotics

  • CAD planning, CAM and CNC – digitalisation optimises almost every phase of our project. The assembly of your object alone is pure manual labour. In a ZIM research project, we joined forces with the TU Berlin to take on the challenge of giving a collaborative robot dexterity.

The result so far? More questions.

Multi Sense Box

  • Have you ever illegally touched an exhibit in a museum?

By making it possible to touch them, we let exhibits tell stories, without restorers throwing their hands up in horror. A true-to-the-original replica made of durable material is equipped with the Multi-Sense-Box from werk5. You can watch your visitors explore tactilely without having to worry. Choose between visual or audio feedback to convey content and information.

Besides you can create an inclusive added value for all people.

This crocodile tells its own story during tactile tours.
