Humboldt Forum Multisense-Station

Tactile exhibits in the permanent exhibition

Hands On Exhibits for an inclusive transfer of knowledge

Since the opening of the East Wing of the Humboldt Forum in Berlin, which houses the Ethnological Museum as well as the Museum of Asian Art, the 20,000 exhibits of the permanent exhibition are joined by accessible and tactile hands-on exhibits that integrate the theme of inclusion into the museum’s work. This gives visitors the opportunity to discover knowledge about the diverse past and present cultures of Africa, America, Asia and Oceania by touching of smelling them.

35 two-sense stations were created in collaboration with schweizergestaltung: from tactile room plans to the scent experience of a Japanese tea ceremony to touchable replicas of Far Eastern craftsmanship.

The objects made of hygienic CORIAN® are easy to disinfect and are therefore particularly well suited for Hands-On-Objects.
