The KUKA Agilus has found its place in the machine shop. With the right end effector, we use by means of a CNC module for projects in which it can score with its 6 axes.
In a ZIM research project (Central Innovation Programme for SMEs based on a resolution of the German Bundestag), we joined forces with the TU Berlin to take on the challenge of teaching a collaborative robot dexterity. Its task: to independently assemble complex geometries in space in order to digitally support assembly in the future.
So far, humans still do better.
The question now is: for how much longer?
