A spirit of discovery for forward-looking craftsmanship
In a ZIM research project (Central Innovation Programme for SMEs based on a resolution of the German Bundestag), we joined forces with the TU Berlin to take on the challenge of teaching a collaborative robot dexterity. Its task: to independently assemble complex geometries in space in order to digitally support assembly in the future.
So far, humans still do better.
The question now is: for how much longer? The next step in the implementation of new technologies: combining artificial intelligence and robotics to constructively address demographic change and automate unpleasant, unhealthy activities of the skilled trades.
