Which features should be tactilely perceptible? Which surface structure can be used for wood or stone? Is a distinction even necessary?

The translation of a painting into a tactile relief provides enough stumbling blocks to deter museums and exhibition designers from even trying. But with the right tactics, you not only get a tactile masterpiece, but also open up a new perspective on a familiar painting for your visitors.

1. Image analysis & Interpretation

In a preliminary discussion, we define the content you want to communicate. Which elements are important for the image statement and what needs to be paid special attention to in a 3-dimensional implementation? Can the desired features be realised in relief and distinguished tactilely?

2. Digital planning

In the 3D conception, we implement the content determined in the image analysis and modulate the painting as a relief.

3. Manufacturing

High-quality and hygienic: Corian® is particularly suitable for busy public areas. In our workshop, we use CNC technology and traditional craftsmanship to create the 3D relief.

Humboldt Forum ‘Berlin Global’

Tactile orientation maps

Haptic navigation through your exhibition can do much more than just showing the way – if you add an audio feedback. Sensory points play audio content via a one-handed earpiece when touched. In this way, your visitors learn exciting information about the architectural history of your building or the surrounding area.
