Sculptures & Statues

From tree trunks to candy mass – our creative skills grow with your ideas

  • Boulder or spruce, the difference for successful processing lies in the material. The 3D data of the stones that Alicija Kwade transforms are milled from PU block material. A predictable, industrially produced material with a homogeneous density. The two-metre-high tree trunks, which as living material take years to dry out, are a completely different case.

  • Everyday items become objects with symbolic character through scaling. For example the Afro Combs on a scale of 10:1, which symbolise the artist’s African roots. You can find more pictures of various projects which we realised for Robin Rhode in the project view.

  • Just in time for the end of the 2021 summer holidays, the seating sculptures by Studio Gründer Kirfel were set up in the Felix-Mendelssohn-Bartholdy-Gymnasium in Berlin. Now the pupils find places of retreat and communication in PAUSENHEIMATEN. With the solid wood sculptures that look like crumpled paper, the ‘Kunst am Bau’ winners have succeeded in doing what up to now has usually ended in art that serves no purpose: To create art that deliberately formulates benefits and concerns.

You can find more pictures in the project overview.

Installations

(Almost) No matter how big your idea is – there is room for it in our workshop.

  • The glass of the light bulbs and tubes used in Philippe Parreno’s light installations are hand-blown in an Italian factory. We provide the work with circuits and assemble it to let it shine in the spirit of the artist.

You can find more pictures in the project view.
